E-books now outsell print books


It has finally happened. Amazon has announced that it is now selling more Kindle e-books than printed hardcover or paperback books. This turning point is due largely to the public’s transition from paper books to e-readers.

Amazon states that is has sold more than 3 times as many Kindle books in 2011 than in the same period in 2010. This trend is expected to continue and increase.

Macs aren’t so safe anymore


Mac malware is getting serious with the recent release of the first Trojan construction kit for Mac’s X OS.  Macs have finally hit the 16% market share that analysts predicted would be the threshold for the appearance of Mac viruses and they were right.

Suddenly the Mac doesn’t seem so immune to the dangers that PCs have always been vulnerable to. The myth that “Macs don’t get viruses” is officially debunked. Mac users beware. It will be interesting to see if Mac viruses grow at a greater rate than Mac protection can manage.
